Each phase has a specific meaning and use for crafting spells. One symbolizes bringing something into your life, and one symbolizes pushing something away.

The New Moon is great for setting your intentions for the month. What do you want to accomplish this month? Meditating on your answer is a great way to get what you want. Your affirmation should be super specific: “Buy a 4-bedroom house in Salt Lake City, by the end of the month”. What do you want, and when do you want it? When you add it to your affirmation, it leaves no room for you to get only part of what you want. Include all the details you can.

This is an amazing time to learn about a new path. Is there something you have been wanting to try? Maybe you’re a Crystal Witch, but lately, you’ve been called to start baking with intention and dabbling in Kitchen Witchery. Go for it! If there’s ever a time, it’s now.

Overcoming Obstacles:

During the waxing phase, the moon is getting fuller; now’s a great time to focus on growth, initiation, or enhancement. Consider working on your career, finding business opportunities, or self-love.

What you will need for your spells:

Glass Spell Jars– Plastic Jars Could Melt Once You Add The Hot Wax
Bay Leaf-For Wishing
Catnip- Luck
Chamomile- Luck
Cinnamon-Luck
Allspice- Bringing Luck
Amethyst-Bringing In Spiritual Luck
Carnelian–Luck And Confidence
Citrine-Luck
Orange Candle- Good Luck
Paper/Pen– Writing Down Intentions

Cleanse your space and your jar- inside and out. Add your spell items into the jar one by one (you can use a funnel to help you). As you are adding them say out loud or in your head what you want the item to do, “Catnip for Good Luck”. When you get all the items inside take your paper and write an affirmation on it as if it has already happened ” I am lucky”, “I have good luck” then fold the paper towards yourself 3 times. Put the paper into the jar and put the lid on.

Light your Orange candle and once it starts to melt you can hold it over the jar to seal it closed. You can add some crystals to the top of the wet wax.

You can keep this jar on you, in your purse or bag. Or you can leave it at home where you will see it daily. Put it on your sink vanity so you see it while getting ready every day. Give it a little shake and say an affirmation for luck and let it do its work.

Do not keep jars in the car during warm weather if they are sealed with wax, the wax will melt in the heat and ruin your car.

Intuition, Charging, And Releasing Energy

Intuition:

Your intuition is going to be better now, and practicing divination would be a great idea.

Intentions:

Meditating on your intentions that were set on the New Moon to see the progress is a great ritual to include monthly.

Charging Crystals:

Using the this lunar phase to charge your crystals is a great way to take care of most of your crystals at once. Some crystals can’t be exposed to the moonlight, though (which is the reflection of the sun and some crystals don’t do well in sunlight).

Releasing energy:

Meditate on your energy. What do you feel is holding you back, or what negative energy do you feel like you could release back into the earth? You can write a note about what you want to release or drop from your life. Burn the paper and return the ashes back to the earth. Hopefully, your negative energy has gone with it.

Last Quarter

Banishing

Banishing:

The last phase is when the moon gets smaller and smaller. It’s disappearing. This time of the month is a good time to practice some banishing work. Banishing fears, insecurities, negative spirits, or whatever you feel like you need to banish this month.

This is an easy banishing spell you can do if you are wanting to banish a person or emotion. But you shouldn’t use this one for spirits.

Write the persons name or the emotion on paper 9 times.

Light the paper on fire, on a fire-safe dish.

Bury the ashes in the ground, preferably not on your property.
