Making Sun Water For Every Witch In 4 Easy Steps

What Is Sun Water?

Sun water is an ingredient a lot of witches use, but it’s not as heard of or used as moon water. You can use the sun to infuse water for spells, rituals, kitchen witchery, and more. Making sun infused water is pretty simple, and has many benefits.

What Can We Do With Sun Water?

Correspondences

You can make spells with sun water using its correspondences. Making a spell can be as difficult or as simple as you want.

If you want a quick sun water spell, you can fill up a glass with sun water.

Then, pick your intention and write it on a piece of paper.

Put the water on top of the paper and focus on your intention.

If you want a little more power to the spell you can add other ingredients with a corresponding intentnion and add them to the water while thinking or saying what they are for: “Salt for protection”.

Once you have all the ingredients, focus on your intention and stir the water 3 times clockwise (to bring in).

Then depending on what your ingredients were, either drink the water or give it back to the earth by pouring it outside or down the toilet. (Some ingredients like salt should not go outside in the grass).

Kitchen Witchery

It can be beneficial to bake and cook with sun-infused water. Giving your food and beverages a boost of sunlight is a great way to make your day more magical! You can make cookies, tea, or even a full dinner using the sun-infused water to give it a special boost.

Give your water a specific intention before using it, and watch the magick happen. Even for mundane things like cooking pasta for the family. Boil your sun water with the intention of protection or happiness, then cook pasta as usual. Magick is all about intention.

Sun Water Baths

Taking a bath with a splash of sun water can be a great way to energize your whole body with the intention you have. I would recommend a bath for something like success, ambition, power, and leadership.

How Do We Make It?

Cleanse Your Jar

Empty wine bottle, with label cleaned off, laying on a counter with a rosemary bundle smoking by it. The bottle also has smoke inside.

Cleanse Your Container

One of the most important parts of creating something in witchcraft and magick is cleansing our space. If we are using tools, jars, containers, etc, we should be cleansing them. You want to make sure that any left energy is gone before trying to add new energy/intention to it.

You can cleanse a few different ways, but my favorite is smoke cleansing. But if you can’t or don’t want to use smoke, there are other ways to cleanse also!

Fill Your Jar

Fill Your Container

If you plan to consume your water, please make sure you’re using safe water. Do not consume rain or river water.

You can use tap or bottled water, but think about what you are using it for before filling up a whole jug of water.

Get Some Sunlight

Recycled wine container sitting outside in the sunlight.

Put your water in the sunlight.

If you can’t get your water outside, you can keep it in your window sill. Just make sure that the curtains are open our behind your water so it’s not blocking the moonlight. The sun is powerful enough that it will work inside as long as you remove as many blockages as possible.

Bring the water inside

Water container sitting with crystals. The bottle has " Sun water" written on it.

Bring in your water

Bring in the water to use. The water is now charged, but I like to sit mine with some crystals that also correspond with the sun.
